Turn WebP images into a PDF

or drop them here
Choose at least one JPG or PNG image first.

Choose WebP images, put them in order, and build one checked PDF without an upload. The browser decodes each WebP into lossless pixels and preserves its dimensions and transparency. Match each page to its image or use A4 or US Letter with the margin you choose. The finished page count, page sizes and embedded image dimensions are verified before download.

How to turn WebP images into a PDF

  1. Choose WebP images

Choose one or more .webp files, or drop them on the page. The browser decodes each image in this tab.

  2. Put them in order

Use the arrow buttons to set the page order. Each WebP image becomes one PDF page.

  3. Choose the page fit

Match each page to its image, or use A4 or US Letter. Add no margin, a narrow margin, or a standard margin.

  4. Read the receipt, then download

The completed PDF is opened again. Its page count, page sizes and embedded image dimensions must match before the download appears.

What goes into the PDF

Each WebP is decoded by the browser and written into the PDF as a lossless PNG image. This keeps its decoded width, height and alpha channel. It does not keep the WebP compression stream, so the PDF can be larger than the source files. Animated WebP files contribute their first frame.

Where WebP to PDF fits

pdfpix is a free WebP to PDF converter that needs no account and sets no daily cap. The page is online, but nothing about the convert step is remote: the browser decodes each WebP and the PDF is written in this tab, so the images never reach a server.

WebP is a web delivery format. It is what a site sends to a browser, and it is usually the last thing an email client, a print shop or a document reader will accept. A PDF page is the version other people can open without installing anything. Every WebP the browser can display works here, lossy and lossless alike, and an animated WebP contributes its first frame as one page.

The decoded pixels, the width, the height and the alpha channel all survive. What does not survive is the WebP compression stream itself, because a PDF has no way to store one: the image is rewritten as a lossless PNG instead. Expect a PDF noticeably larger than the WebP files that went into it. That is the trade for a file everything can open, and Compress PDF takes the size back down when it matters.

To place these pages inside an existing document, use Merge PDF. Files already saved as PNG belong in PNG to PDF, camera photos in JPG to PDF, and a mixed folder in Images to PDF.

Questions

Are my WebP files uploaded?
No. The WebP decoder, PDF writer and output checks run in this browser tab.
Does WebP to PDF change image quality?
The browser decodes each WebP once and stores those pixels as a lossless PNG image inside the PDF. The pixel width, height and transparency are kept, but the original WebP compression stream is not.
What happens to an animated WebP?
The first frame becomes the PDF page. A PDF page does not animate.
Can I mix portrait and landscape WebP files?
Yes. Fixed paper sizes turn automatically for landscape images. Match image gives every page the shape of its source image.
Why can the PDF be larger than the WebP files?
WebP is compact. The PDF stores lossless PNG data so it can preserve the decoded pixels and transparency, which can take more bytes.
What does the WebP to PDF check cover?
It reopens the completed PDF and checks the page count, every page size, and the pixel width and height of each embedded image. A failed result is not offered for download.

The other pdfpix tools

All 30 of them run in a browser tab like this one. Each reads its own output back and checks it before offering the download, and none of them needs an account.
