Turn a CBZ into a PDF, or a PDF into a CBZ

or drop one here
Choose a CBZ or image-only PDF first.

Convert a CBZ comic archive into a PDF, or turn an image-only PDF back into a CBZ. Numbered folders and file names sort naturally, so page 2 comes before page 10. Original JPG and PNG bytes are kept where possible, a PDF page that is not one standalone image is refused rather than flattened, and every output page is reopened before download.

How to convert a comic archive

  1. Choose a CBZ or PDF

Choose one file or drop it onto the page. The file stays inside this browser tab.

  2. Check the page order

CBZ folders and file names are sorted naturally, so page 2 comes before page 10. PDF pages keep their existing order.

  3. Choose the PDF paper

For CBZ input, match each image or place it on A4 or US Letter paper with the margin you choose. PDF to CBZ needs no layout setting.

  4. Download the checked file

The result is reopened. Every page, archive entry and exact JPEG stream must pass before the download appears.

CBZ and PDF are different containers

A CBZ is a ZIP archive of image files. A PDF page can also contain text, vector shapes, transparency and several images. PDF to CBZ is available only when every page maps cleanly to one standalone JPG or PNG image.

CBR uses RAR rather than ZIP and is not supported. Convert the archive to CBZ first, then use this tool. A comic book archive converter can only move image files between containers, so nothing here re-encodes a page.

Questions about CBZ and PDF conversion

What files can I convert?
The tool accepts CBZ archives containing JPG or PNG pages and PDFs with exactly one standalone JPG or PNG image on every page. CBR files are not accepted.
How are CBZ pages sorted?
Folder paths and file names use natural number sorting. For example, page-2.jpg comes before page-10.jpg. The order is shown before conversion.
Does CBZ to PDF lower image quality?
No. JPG and PNG pages are embedded without resampling. Stored JPEG streams are compared byte for byte after the PDF is written.
Why can some PDFs not become a CBZ?
A comic archive has one image file per page. A PDF page with selectable text, several images, inline images or vector artwork is ambiguous, so the tool refuses it rather than dropping content.
Does the file leave my browser?
No. Reading, conversion and verification run in this tab. Analytics receives only aggregate counts, sizes, timings and the conversion direction.
What paper size does the converted PDF use?
Each page can match its own image, or sit on A4 or US Letter paper with the margin you choose. PDF to CBZ needs no paper setting, because an archive stores image files rather than pages.

The other pdfpix tools

All 30 of them run in a browser tab like this one. Each reads its own output back and checks it before offering the download, and none of them needs an account.
