Remove blank pages from PDF

Why the blanks are there
A duplex scanner scans both sides of every sheet whether or not the back has anything on it. A twenty sheet document scanned this way becomes forty pages, half of them empty. The scanner has no idea which side matters and does not try to guess.
The same thing happens with separator sheets, cover pages and the last page of a batch. None of it is damage, it is just weight, and on a large scan it can be a third of the file.
No automatic detection, and why that is fine
Nothing here decides for you what counts as blank. A page with a faint scanner artefact, a header, a stamp or a hole punch shadow is not empty, and a tool that guessed would eventually throw away a page someone needed.
The page grid shows every page as a thumbnail. Blanks are obvious at a glance because they are the white ones. Select them, press delete on the selection, and the grid updates. Undo and reset are both there if you go too far.
What happens to the file
The remaining pages are written into a new document and then checked. Page count and text are compared against what you asked for, and the run fails if they do not match. The original file on your disk is untouched, because the tool works on a copy in memory.

- No. It shows a thumbnail of every page and you pick the blanks yourself. Automatic detection would eventually discard a page carrying a faint stamp or a header, which is a worse failure than a minute of looking.
- Why does my scanner produce blank pages?
- Because duplex scanning captures both sides of every sheet, whether or not the back has anything on it. Twenty printed sheets become forty scanned pages. Most scanner drivers have a setting to skip blank sides, which prevents it at the source.
- Can I undo a page deletion?
- Yes. The tool keeps a history, with undo, redo and a full reset back to the original page order. Nothing is written to disk until you download, and the source file is never modified.
- Does removing blank pages make the file smaller?
- Yes, and often by a lot on a scan. A blank scanned page is still a full page image, so removing half of a duplex scan can remove close to half the bytes. Compress afterwards for the rest.
