Fill a PDF form

or drop one here
Choose a PDF first.

Choose a PDF with existing interactive fields, fill them directly on the rendered page, and download a checked copy. Text boxes, checkboxes, radio groups, dropdowns and option lists appear in their stored positions, and the fields stay editable afterwards. Digital signature fields and action buttons stay unchanged. The PDF and every answer stay in this browser tab.

How to fill a PDF form

  1. Choose a PDF

Choose a PDF or drop it onto the page. The file and every answer stay in this browser tab.

  2. Complete the existing fields

Fill text boxes, checkboxes, radio groups, dropdowns and option lists in their actual positions on each PDF page.

  3. Save the filled PDF

The answers are written with visible field appearances. Digital signature fields and form action buttons stay unchanged.

  4. Download the checked file

The output is reopened. Every changed value, field appearance, page and original selectable character must pass before download.

What this tool does not change

Digital signature fields, action buttons, read-only fields and unsupported field formats stay unchanged. A flat page or scan has no interactive fields to fill. This tool says so instead of guessing where answers belong.

Saving answers changes the document bytes and can invalidate an existing digital signature. Unlock a protected PDF before filling it.

Filling a form online without uploading it

The page loads online; the PDF does not travel with it. Every field, every value and the saved copy stay in this browser tab, which is the whole difference between filling a form online and posting a document to somebody else's server. Fill a PDF form on your phone covers the same job on a small screen, where tapping a stored field position matters more than it does with a mouse.

Questions about filling PDF forms

Can this fill any PDF form?
It fills existing interactive AcroForm fields and places each control over its stored page position. A scan or flat page has no stored fields, so this tool reports that instead of guessing.
Do the fields stay editable?
Yes. This tool keeps the fields interactive. Use Flatten PDF after filling if you need a fixed copy whose answers cannot be cleared.
Does it support digital signatures?
It leaves digital signature fields unchanged. Sign PDF can place a visible signature, but that is not a certificate-backed digital signature.
Are my answers uploaded?
No. The PDF and its answers stay in this browser tab. Analytics receive only aggregate counts, such as the number of fields changed.
How is the filled PDF checked?
The tool reopens the output and checks each requested value, each changed field appearance, every page and the original selectable text.
What happens to read-only or password-protected files?
Read-only fields and action buttons stay unchanged. Unlock a password-protected PDF first, because saving answers rewrites the document bytes and can invalidate an existing digital signature.

The other pdfpix tools

All 30 of them run in a browser tab like this one. Each reads its own output back and checks it before offering the download, and none of them needs an account.
