How to split a PDF into parts

  1. Choose the PDF

  2. Mark each new beginning

    On the first page of each new part, press Start a new file here. Undo and Redo revise boundaries; Reset removes them.

  3. Check the output plan

    Each output PDF is opened again and compared with its source pages. The verified files are packed into one ZIP.

Where Split PDF fits

pdfpix splits a PDF online without uploading it. The page arrives over the network; the document does not go back. Splitting is one half of a pair: you split to send a single chapter, to file each invoice on its own, or to keep a signed page out of a bundle you are forwarding. Merge PDF is the other half and will combine the parts again in whatever order you choose.

This tool works by boundaries rather than by ranges. You mark the first page of each new part, and every page between one marker and the next travels together. That is why the plan can be checked before anything runs: every source page must appear in exactly one output, so a page cannot be quietly dropped or duplicated. Files to create lists each part and its page range while you are still deciding, and the ZIP holds one PDF per part.

Choose the tool that matches the shape of the job. To pull out a handful of pages and leave the rest alone, use Extract PDF pages. To throw pages away rather than split them off, use Delete PDF pages. To reorder or rotate before splitting, use Organize pages. For one PDF per page, the split into single pages preset does that in one step.

Are the split pages uploaded?

How do I split a PDF into two files?
Choose the first page of the second file and press Start a new file here. The output plan will show two ranges before you run the split.
Can I create more than two parts?
Yes. Add a boundary at the first page of every part. The output plan updates after each change.
Can I undo a boundary?
Yes. Use Undo and Redo for individual changes, or Reset pages to remove every split boundary.
Does text stay selectable in each split file?
Yes. Whole PDF pages are copied instead of rendered as pictures. Each output is reopened and its selectable text is compared with the source.
What does the split check confirm?
It checks that every source page appears once and in order, keeps its page size, opens successfully, and retains at least 98% of its selectable text.
Can I make one PDF per page?
Yes. Organize Pages has a Separate PDFs option for that job. This page is for a smaller number of chosen page ranges.
What may not carry into the split files?
Document-level bookmarks, links between different output parts, custom page labels and interactive form behavior may not carry across the cut.
