How to turn images into a PDF

  1. Choose your images

    Press Choose images, or drop JPG and PNG files on the page. The images are read and previewed in this tab.

  2. Put them in order

    Use the arrow buttons to set the page order. Each image becomes one PDF page.

  3. Choose the page fit

    Match each page to its image, or use A4 or US Letter. Add no margin, a narrow margin, or a standard margin. Images are fitted without cropping or resampling.

  4. Read the check, then download

    The result is opened again. Every page, page size and embedded image dimension must match before the download appears.

Your pixels go in unchanged

The image you choose is embedded in the PDF exactly as it arrived. Nothing is resampled, no JPG is decoded and saved again, and no quality setting sits between your file and the page. A photograph that was three thousand pixels wide is still three thousand pixels wide inside the PDF, whichever paper size you pick.

Paper size changes only how large that image is drawn. On A4 or US Letter the image is fitted inside the margins you chose, so a high-resolution photograph is simply printed at a smaller physical size and at a higher effective resolution. Choose Match image instead and each page takes the shape of its own picture, which is what you want for screenshots and scans that should not sit on a letter-shaped page with white bands down the sides.

Because nothing is recompressed, the PDF is roughly as large as the images that went into it. The same holds whether you convert two pics from a phone or a folder of scans: this converter adds no compression of its own.

Questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Reading the images, building the PDF, checking it and downloading it all happen in this browser tab.
Does this reduce image quality?
No. The JPG or PNG is embedded without resampling. A fixed paper size changes how large the image appears on the page, not its pixel dimensions.
What does Match image mean?
Each PDF page follows the shape and proportions of its image. A margin adds space around it. Very large images are scaled on the page to stay within the PDF page-size limit, but their source pixels remain embedded.
What happens to landscape images on A4 or US Letter?
The page turns to landscape automatically, then fits the whole image inside the chosen margins without cropping.
What does the image check cover?
It opens the PDF again and checks the page count, every page size, and the pixel width and height of each embedded image. A failed result is not offered for download.
Which image formats does it accept?
JPG and PNG. The file type is read from the first bytes of each file rather than from its name, so an image saved with the wrong extension is still handled correctly.
Can I mix portrait and landscape images in one PDF?
Yes. With a fixed paper size each page turns to match the image it holds. With Match image each page takes the shape of its own image, so one PDF can hold pages of several different shapes.
