How to turn a PDF into TIFF

    Choose color or grayscale, set 150, 200 or 300 DPI, then keep every page or enter page numbers such as 1, 3-5.

  3. Build one file

    Each selected PDF page is drawn and stored as a page inside one PackBits-compressed TIFF.

  4. Read the check, then download

    The TIFF is reopened page by page. The page count and every image dimension must match before the download appears.

Choose the receiving system’s TIFF settings

TIFF is a container, not one fixed recipe. A records system may require color, grayscale or one-bit black and white; 200 or 300 DPI; and a named compression method. This tool writes color or 8-bit grayscale pages with lossless PackBits compression. It does not claim Group 4 fax output. Check the specification before converting a large document.

Resolution controls both detail and file size. Moving from 150 to 300 DPI creates four times as many pixels per page. Grayscale stores one sample per pixel instead of three, so it is the practical choice when color carries no information. The converter is free and runs in this tab, so trying both settings costs one more run.

Does this run on a server?
No. Opening the PDF, drawing its pages, writing the TIFF and checking the result all happen in this browser tab.
Does it make one TIFF per page?
No. Every selected PDF page becomes a page inside one multi-page TIFF file.
Which color mode and resolution should I use?
Choose color when the page uses meaningful color. Grayscale is smaller and suits black-and-white records, but it is not a one-bit Group 4 fax TIFF. For resolution, use 150 DPI for screen viewing, 200 DPI for many records and fax workflows, or 300 DPI when small print needs more detail. Check the receiving system’s specification.
Can I export a page range to TIFF?
Yes. Choose pages and enter single pages or ranges, such as 1, 3-5. They stay in PDF page order.
Will the TIFF text be selectable?
No. TIFF stores page pixels. The source PDF is not changed and keeps its text layer.
What compression does it use?
The TIFF uses lossless PackBits compression. It does not use lossy JPEG compression or Group 4 black-and-white fax compression.
What does the output check cover?
It reopens every TIFF page, decodes its stored pixels and checks the page count, width and height. A failed output is not offered for download.
Is there an output limit?
Yes. The generated TIFF is capped at 256 MB. Choose fewer pages, grayscale or a lower resolution if the file would exceed that cap.
